ASGC 2011 Scholars and Fellows Award Recipients Announced

ASGC releases Award Recipient List for 2011.

The Alabama Space Grant Consortium offers graduate fellowships and undergraduate scholarships annually to college students who attend Alabama member universities majoring in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) field and are interested in a career with NASA.

Teacher education scholarships are also available to undergraduate students who attend Alabama member universities majoring in pre-college secondary teaching certification in STEM education.

UAB Research Experience for Undergraduates Program (REU)

The UAB Research Experiences for Undergraduates and Teachers (REUT) program director at UAB, Yogesh Vohra, Ph.D., a professor university scholar of physics, talked about the important role of the program, specifically as it relates to helping underrepresented minority students and teachers gain valuable lab experience.
